Suzy White
Group Chief Operating Officer
Suzy White was appointed Group Chief Operating Officer in October 2024 (subject to regulatory approval).
Suzy has been with HSBC for over 25 years and has held a number of key senior leadership roles, most recently Chief Operating Officer for Global Banking and Markets. In this role, she co-led the Wholesale Chief Operating Office organisation with the Commercial Banking Chief Operating Officer to transform and enhance services to Global Banking and Markets and Commercial Banking, whilst simplifying the Global Banking and Markets Chief Operating Office organisation. Suzy also oversaw the Markets and Securities Services Chief Operating Office team, where she led the transformation to simplify the Markets and Securities Services business model.
Suzy’s career has spanned Global Businesses, Risk and Finance. After starting out in Finance, leading Product Control teams in London, she moved to New York as the Global Chief Operating Officer for Structured Credit and led the response to the financial crisis. Suzy went on to become Regional Chief Operating Officer for Global Markets in the Americas and Chief Risk Officer for Global Banking and Markets and Commercial Banking in the US, where she drove delivery to support key regulatory requirements.
Suzy has also held numerous board positions including HSBC Securities Inc. and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission Market Risk Advisory Committee.
Suzy is a strong advocate of the inclusivity agenda. She has sponsored several Group and Global Banking and Markets initiatives to drive a more inclusive workplace and represents HSBC externally on cross-industry initiatives that focus on growth through diversity.
