We’ve been named the World’s Best Bank in three categories – Sustainable Finance, Payments and Treasury, and Public-Sector Clients – in the Euromoney Awards for Excellence 2024.

In total, we topped 33 categories in this year’s awards, including winning the Best Bank award in our two home markets – Hong Kong and the UK.

The award wins reflect the strength of our international network and the breadth of our offering as we were named, among others, Asia’s Best Bank, the Middle East’s Best Investment Bank and Western Europe’s Best Bank for Transaction Services.

World’s Best Bank for Sustainable Finance

Noel Quinn, our Group Chief Executive, said: “I’m proud of the material changes that we’ve made over the last four years to enable us to help our clients achieve their sustainability goals and support our ambition of reaching net zero by 2050.

“Our presence in the markets, sectors and segments that will make the biggest impact on future emissions, together with our expertise and global connectivity, mean we can connect our clients to new solutions and partners.”

World’s Best Bank for Payments and Treasury

Louise Bowman, Euromoney editor, said: “The bank’s performance is correlated to the strengths of its underlying payments business, which is buttressed by the key strengths of the Group.

“These include the global network and connectivity HSBC can provide; a well-capitalised, US$3 trillion balance sheet; a broad range of wholesale banking products and services; and advanced technology platforms enabling corporate treasurers to move, park, and manage money securely and efficiently.”

World’s Best Bank for Public-Sector Clients

Louise Bowman said: “One of the key strengths of a bank like HSBC is its access to worldwide pools of liquidity. This has meant that it can give issuers comfort around their ability to fund. It is also key to diversifying funding sources.”
