You can check the progress of your application at any time. Simply log into your candidate profile using your email address and password, and you will see all applications under the “Jobs Applied” section. Without clicking the job specific tile, you will see the current status of your application and if any action is required. Please note, whilst we make every effort to respond to all applications in a timely manner, due to the high volumes we received this is not always possible.

You will need to register again on our new careers portal. Any applications which were submitted via the previous site will continue to be processed there and can be tracked by clicking here.
There is no requirement to register to use our matching tool. Simply upload a recent CV/resume to view relevant roles. You will only be asked to register or log in if you decide to apply for a job or if you wish to join our Talent Network to receive job alerts matched to your skills and your preferred work location.
Once you have uploaded your CV/resume, jobs will be labelled as a good or strong match. Strong matches will be shown first in search results. The relevant skills will also be highlighted so you know why those jobs were suggested.
Our matching tool looks at your CV/resume and picks out skills from the roles you have been in previously. Based on these skills, you will be shown a list of open roles at HSBC that are a “Strong match” or a “Good match” for your skillset.
If you decide not to register or apply to the jobs you see, your profile will be deleted after 24 hours. If you decide to register, your data is stored in line with the Privacy Notice / applicable GDPR and other compliance regulations.
The matching tool reads your CV/resume and extracts your skills. This is already very insightful and helps you to apply for exciting opportunities to help you develop more skills. Skill-based matching also helps you to see your untapped potential and broadens your view on jobs you might not have initially considered a great fit. What’s more, doing so allows you to be easily discovered by hiring teams when you join our Talent Community.
No, the AI-based platform does not make any automated decisions in the hiring process. All decisions will be made by our hiring team.
We will expect you to know the key facts about HSBC. Prepare by having a good look around our corporate website, read the news and talk to anyone you know who is working for us or has worked for us in the past. Be ready to explain your motivation for joining HSBC, the financial industry and the specific business area you have applied to. During your interview, show that you are interested in the role and in working for HSBC. Don’t be shy about selling yourself. Describe your previous experience and highlight relevant skills and qualities.
