UK Black Heritage Insight Programme

This programme is aimed primarily at students of black heritage. But we welcome applications from students of all backgrounds, and degree disciplines, not just those who’ve studied finance-related degrees, or those who have knowledge of banking.

It takes a broad range of skills to be successful at HSBC. We’re looking forward to seeing the mix of skills you’ve learned so far, and hearing about the unique perspective that you’ll bring to our teams. We’ll help you learn everything else.

To join us on this programme, you’ll need to be:

• A first-year student studying on a three-year degree or a second-year student studying on a four-year degree.
• Interested to learn about the financial industry.

We’ll help you develop the technical skills most relevant to your role. We’ll also provide plenty of opportunities to advance your non-technical skills, like relationship management and collaboration, that will help you move your career forward successfully.

At the end of your three days with us:

• Banking will no longer be a mystery. You’ll understand the ins and outs of the industry and what roles people play so you can decide if a career with us is right for you.
• You’ll know what’s great about working for a leading international bank like HSBC, and how you can join.
• You’ll have experienced our culture first-hand and learned all about our global strategy, ESG goals, Employee Resource Groups, and above all, our people.
• You’ll have developed skills that will help you with future internship applications.
• You may even be invited to attend a fast-track Virtual Experience Day, and be considered for a 10-week Summer Internship the following year.
