Manager Delivery Services – Human Resources Support
Jersey
After 27 years working in the banking industry, I was drawn to HSBC because of the bank’s commitment to diversity and inclusion. For years, I had seen HSBC posters at the airports featuring individuals from diverse cultures, and I always thought, “That must be a cool place to work.”
I joined HSBC in August 2022 as a Premier Relationship Manager, and I have never regretted signing on the dotted line. I have been lucky enough to participate in the RISE programme with fifteen other women across different sectors of the bank. The programme is designed to empower us as leaders through driving personal and professional growth. It has enabled me to be more strategic about my developmental goals.
In June 2024, I applied for a six-month secondment in HR. Taking on an HR role was a childhood dream, a way to harness my skills and challenge myself. I have completed the Chartered Institute of Personnel Development Level 3 qualification and have almost finished the Level 5 qualification. I have also since applied for and been successful in attaining the role of Manager, Delivery Services, within HR, and I find myself being challenged mentally every day. I cannot wait to experience what the future holds for me.
At HSBC, you not only receive competitive benefits and career opportunities, but also you get to be part of a community-focused culture. It is amazing how much the bank invests in the wellbeing of its employees. There were times I was under pressure whilst juggling studies and work responsibilities. My colleagues, line managers, and senior management have always been there to support me. It has been easy for me to approach them about anything I need to talk through. I work with considerate people, and because of that I know I’ve got a good team to lean on, regardless of how the day’s going.
