When I was a Wealth Management Specialist at a local bank, it was clear to me that HSBC would be my career destination. Joining a truly international bank had always been my goal. Not only are the products and customer portfolio more diverse and international, but also the system is more organised and established, the culture is more open, and the support is more resourceful. I heard a lot about these good things at HSBC during my time in the industry. Finally, I joined HSBC in 2018 and it’s been a fantastic journey since then.

Excellent training

It’s well-known that HSBC has a very strong focus on supporting its people to learn and grow throughout their careers. I started out at HSBC as an Associate Premier Relationship Manager. As a new joiner back then, any concerns about understanding and assimilating into how HSBC works and performing well in my role were resolved by the comprehensive training available to me readily, both online and in person.

Today, I still count on this robust learning and development platform and I continue to enhance my skillset and to build my knowledge and expertise in areas within and outside of my direct scope of work. For example, while my role is centred around assisting customers in asset planning, investing and financial management, I also have a strong interest in leadership as well as in money laundering prevention, and there’s ample training I can tap into in these areas at HSBC. Career progression and work-life balance

I love what I’m doing here so my job satisfaction level is really high. I’ve also been following the very clear promotion guidelines to challenge myself to progress. I have been promoted from Associate Premier Relationship Manager to Senior Premier Relationship Manager in less than six years and I can still see plenty of possibilities ahead of me. The overall pay and benefits package is also one of the key factors to keep me motivated. While working hard, I am still able to enjoy a great family life. That’s why I truly love working at HSBC.
