I have always been curious as a child and that curiosity has led me today where I continue to build things.

I enjoy turning an idea into a physical object; one that you can physically touch and share with others.

My career has not followed a conventional path.

I’m not afraid to try new things.

And I’ve come back to banking now where I lead a team to protect our customers fight financial crime and solve real-world problems.

Financial crime never stays still; so, we have to use new technology to stay ahead of the curve.

HSBC invests heavily in AI, cloud technology, infrastructure, and data to make this work possible.

We have leaders at HSBC who trust and encourage us to find new ways of solving problems using the latest technology allowing me to bring my curiosity to work.

Whether I am 3D printing something to fix a broken part of the house or using AI to fight financial crime, I’m always using technology to solve a problem.

Here I can bring all the parts of who I am the researcher, the builder, the technologist, and the entrepreneur.

I was always really curious to understand how the world got to be the way it is today.

When I was growing up there was always a lot of conversation at the dinner table around current, affairs, politics, economics.

I was constantly asking questions: “How did we get here?” “Why is it the way it is?”

That curiosity stuck with me as I grew older.

So, I’m basically a Carbon Removal Technology Specialist sitting within HSBC.

I join the dots between technology, economics, and policy with finance to help scale carbon removal industries.

What excites me the most about the future is seeing carbon removal technologies move from a concept to a blueprint to reality.

HSBC has enabled me to bring together everything that I’ve learned in my career not just talk about things but effect real change.

For someone who’s spent a lifetime asking questions about why the world is the way it is, HSBC provides me with that platform not just to explore but to affect change with it.
