I’ve been with HSBC for 16 years. I work as a Premier Plus Relationship Manager in Bangalore, a city known as ‘the Silicon Valley of India,’ because global and local tech firms flock here to innovate and grow. My clients are entrepreneurs and top executives, and I’m fascinated by their ambition and drive to succeed – this inspires me to want to constantly develop myself too.
Building strong client relationships

Building a solid bond with my clients and truly understanding their needs is essential. Many of them are busy executive who want a bank with a global presence that can cover the full spectrum of their financial needs. From retail banking and wealth management to helping them with banking needs overseas as they often send their children to study abroad, it’s my job to make managing their finances feel seamless.
The relationships I’ve built with my clients are very strong and I’m often invited to their family and community events. I enjoy developing these connections further by having interesting experiences with them outside of usual banking settings, like feasts, art experiences and exclusive sporting events through HSBC’s partnerships.
Fast career progression
I’m an ambitious person. I love the satisfaction of starting out from scratch and making a legacy for myself, so the prospect of progression is something that motivates me each day.
My career at HSBC has progressed at great speed. I joined the HSBC operations centre in Kolkata back in 2008, which led me to several promotions, a job offer in Bangalore, and a further promotion. Being open and ready to take new opportunities when they arise has enabled me to excel here, as the scale and breadth of HSBC’s business means that there are always new and exciting endeavours.
The constant support I receive from my peers, managers and senior leaders further enables my growth. The culture of the bank is very employee-friendly so it’s somewhere I plan to stay. I’m doing a course to become a Certified Financial Planner, so that I’m able to embark on my next career step when it presents itself. My goal is to become a Private Banking Relationship Manager one day. Watch this space!
